Purpose
The purpose of this Quick Reference Guide (QRG) is to provide a step-by-step explanation of the Intercompany (IC) Transfer Type values in the North Carolina Financial System (NCFS).
Introduction and Overview
This QRG covers the different types of IC transfers in NCFS, which will enable you to select the appropriate IC Transfer Type value (Descriptive Flexfields (DFF)) when creating an IC transfer.
IC Transfer Type Values
Below are valid transfer type values:

| TF-1-OPERATING | Manual/Spreadsheet/Interface | Transfers of financial resources from one budget fund designated to receive revenues to another budget fund that is authorized to spend the funds and incur the expenditures. | |
| TF-2-REIMBURSEMENTS | Manual/Spreadsheet/Interface | Transfers from one budget fund to another budget fund as payment for services (other than internal service funds). | |
| TF-3-FEDERAL | Manual/Spreadsheet/Interface | Transfers related to the movement of federal drawdowns from a 3-type budget code to an operational budget code. | |
| TF-5-AGENCY GRANTS | Manual/Spreadsheet/Interface | Transfers related to the funding of grants. | |
| TF-6-INTERGOVERNMENTAL (IGO) | NCFS AP (Accounts Payable) /Interface | Transfers from one agency budget fund/code to another budget fund/code via AP processing (IGOs in NCFS AP). | |
| TF-7-YEAR END CARRYFORWARD | Manual/Spreadsheet/Interface | Transfers that record the carryforward of appropriations to the next fiscal year, as approved by OSBM at year end. | |
